Tillery Action for You Ltd has been fortunate to work with incredible funders who share our vision for community growth and sustainability in Ebbw Vale. From enhancing biodiversity in local schools to revitalising community venues like Aberbeeg Community Centre, our projects are a testament to the power of collaboration. With support from organisations like the People's Health Trust and Coalfields Regeneration Trust, we’re making a tangible difference in the lives of those we serve. The Health Lottery / People's Health Trust
Starting in January 2024, we have been successful with an application to the People's Health Trust to enhance what we do with communities, community venues and horticulture over the coming two years. This work will include our extensive work with Aberbeeg Community centre, the gardening and forest areas and our work with local schools around biodiversity.
Blaenau Gwent CBC
a complicate but vitally important partner as we work with so many departments from the Environmental and biodiversity team who provide project support, the Economic Development team who assist with business development and funding, the Trailblazer team we work with on work placements, right through to waste management who assist with recycling and providing us with sustainably produced compost.
Aneurin Leisure Trust
We deliver DIY and basic vehicle maintenance courses working with the Aneurin Leisure Trust and are working in 2026 on a six-week basic horticulture course we can deliver with our joint participants. We love delivering the courses we do and people really enjoy coming together make new friends and learn some skills, we are always open to new ideas!
Tai Calon & Food Resilience Partnership
Working with Tai Calon and the food resilience partnership over the past six months has assisted with the development of our Cwm Meadows site and future plans, we were also fortunate enough through the Food Resilience partnership to receive funding towards our growing activities and through Tai Calon for our two new polytunnels.
Wales Council for Voluntary Action (WCVA)
TAFY has been a member of the WCVA for some years and has benefited from support and advice over the years in developing our project monitoring systems and our internal procedures. In previous years we have accessed funding through the WCVA including Active Inclusion funding and Landfill Tax Credit funding.
Community Foundation in Wales & Laura Ashley Foundation
We have to say a huge thank you to the Community Foundation in Wales as in 2010 they were instrumental in assisting with taking TAFY from a community group into a Co Ltd by Guarantee and helping with all the work around this. In 2025 the Community Foundation in Wales working with the Ashley Family Foundation have funded a large chunk of the work we are doing developing Cwm Meadows.
Gwent Crime Commissioner
We were fortunate enough in 2025 to receive a visit from Jane Mudd the Gwent Crime Commissioner who came along to see exactly what we were doing for people in Blaenau Gwent and how community cohesion was being improved by the activities, in late 2025 we were fortunate enough to be awarded funding from the commissioner to support these works going forwards.
EGIN / People & Places Lottery
We have worked with EGIN who empower local communities to tackle climate change and live sustainably, offering peer mentoring and networking – they were instrumental in leading on environmental improvements within TAFY and developing the plans for sustainability at Cwm Meadows leading to our successful People & Places lottery application which supports our work across Blaenau Gwent.
Aberbeeg Community Centre & Ebbw Fach Community Group
We have delivered volunteering sessions at the Aberbeeg Community Centre now for over two years working in the gardens and in the woodland areas supporting the general activities of the community centre and all the lovely people there!. We will continue to work out of the community centre gardens and woodlands support the activities going forwards helping Pat however we can!
Gwent Green Grid
The Gwent Green Grid Partnership (GGGP) is a collaborative initiative between the five local authorities of Gwent, working alongside Natural Resources Wales and a range of partners and stakeholders. Since its launch in 2020, the partnership has been driving forward efforts to enhance the region’s natural environment and in 2025 Cwm Meadows was named as a dedicated Gwent Green Grid site.
Communities for Work plus
Communities for Work Plus (C4W+) provides specialist employment advice, mentoring and training opportunities to help participants overcome barriers to, and secure sustainable employment. TAFY works closely with C4W+ and delivers work taster sessions and volunteering opportunities in partnership.
Social Farms & Gardens Wales
Social Farms & Gardens (SFG) is a UK wide charity supporting communities to farm, garden and grow together. Our project in Cwm Meadows was developed & planned with SFG and we have registered our activities as a site through this organisation assisting us to develop the activities further with their help.
Millenium Stadium Foundation
The Trust provides financial support to inspiring projects throughout Wales and is in 2026 supporting our volunteers and wider activities with much needed equipment and personal protective equipment. The Trust was established through an agreement between The Millennium Stadium plc and the Millennium Commission and we are delighted to have their support in 2026.
Local Giving
TAFY has started in the past two years working on Local Giving Initiatives and has accessed some funding through this source for specific activities like winter warm space activities and site improvements at Aberbeeg community centre.
Referring organisations
TAFY accepts referrals from many organisations in terms of project works and participants – we would especially like to thank Jobcentreplus, the Salvation Army and Careers Wales for their help over the years.
THE ROLE OF OUR SUPPORTERS
Starting January 2024, funding from the People's Health Trust will enable us to expand our horticultural and community projects over the next two years. This includes biodiversity initiatives with local schools and enhancing forest areas. Additionally, the Coalfields Regeneration Trust continues to provide vital project funding and organisational support, ensuring the success of our initiatives. Together, these partnerships allow us to create meaningful, lasting change in Ebbw Vale.
