What is TAFY?
Tillery Action For You (TAFY) is a social enterprise operating from the Innovation Centre in Ebbw Vale. We deliver training, work trials and apprenticeships across South Wales and undertake a wide variety of community projects ranging from simple path clearing right through to large construction projects

Our organisation undertakes a wide variety of community projects from simple grass cutting right through to large scale landscaping works and internal decorating projects – these projects are always undertaken by our participants, be they volunteers or our paid transitional employees.
Aneurin Bevan Stones
We were again fortunate enough to win this contract for the complete renovation of the Aneurin Bevan Stones site during this extremely important year celebrating the achievements of the great man himself.
The project included the installation on several large boulders on the site along with dry-stone walling, path maintenance and re-instatement, repairs to the original walling, fencing and knee rail installation. This project was extremely exciting to host and provided opportunities for 12 participants to gain qualification and experience.
Brynithel
A smaller project we completed recently with the installation of a kissing gate and the repairs to fencing around this – our organisation is more than happy to carry out smaller projects where need be. This work was also carried out in an area where we regularly cut / strim the rights of way.
Ebbw Vale Fencing
Again a smaller project but nevertheless a complex one with plenty of barriers for us to overcome, this section of fencing needed replacing and a new stile installing however it was in an extremely difficult area to access.
With the assistance of our quad vehicle to carry materials we were able to complete the work over a very wet weekend last winter!
Tredegar Town Centre
Tillery Action For You tendered for the works in Tredegar in 2018 and was fortunate enough to be able to win this project. The project included the complete renovation of the site at the top of Commercial street together with additional works by the police station.
The project included the grading of the site together with installation of a tarmac path, tree planting, fencing and dry stone walling. In addition, the gates and seating were installed when the project was complete along with the wildflower seeding of the areas around the trees. We were exceedingly happy to win the contract but happier with the outcome with more than 20 participants working on the project during its lifespan.
Current Works
We are currently delivering an Active Inclusion project in partnership with the WCVA, for 18 - 24 year old unemployed adults looking to gain skills, qualifications and undertake some volunteering in their community, in 2019 we also have WCVA funding to employ four people whilst gaining skills.
